Typically, the performance (i.e. sensitivity, stability, etc.) of a MEMS based sensor is reduced as the size of the sensor is decreased due to physical scaling laws.  With our suite of patented technologies, we have solved this trade-off using a revolutionary electro-optical displacement sensing technique that allows for the small size and weight of a MEMS sized sensor but affords the resolution and stability of a traditional macro-scale system.
In addition to our standard displacement sensor technology, Omega Sensors offers a unique Energy Harvesting technology that converts ordinary vibrations into electrical power. Scalable to both MEMS and non-MEMS configurations, our V-Power technology offers the best known power density rating of any vibration energy harvesting device.

Our patented technologies have measured changes in displacement as small as 10e-15 meters. To date, our main focus has been on the application of the core technology to the development of a navigation-grade accelerometer with a bias stability better than 50 micro-g. Other MEMS sensors utilizing the same optical technology are being developed in the area of multi-axial accelerometers, gyroscopes, and pressure sensors.
